University of Basel (Universität Basel), founded in 1460, is Switzerland's oldest university and ranks among the country's top ten higher education institutions. It enjoys global recognition, placing within the world's top 300 universities and among the top 5% internationally, with particular strengths in the humanities, social sciences, and life sciences. Its degrees are highly valued by employers worldwide.

 

The university has approximately 12,000 students, more than a quarter of whom are international. It employs around 1,000 academic staff, many of whom come from abroad. Students have access to exchange programs, an extensive library, and on-campus housing.

 

The main campus is situated in a picturesque location along the Rhine River and features modern, well-equipped facilities.
