The Humboldt Institut Dusseldorf Summer Camp, part of the institute founded in 1977, offers an intensive German language program for 14 to 18-year-olds. Limited to 40 students, it is housed in a modern school building within the centrally located Hostel Düsseldorf City, providing views of the Rhine River and easy access to the city's cultural attractions.
Students reside in the same building, staying in single or double rooms separated by gender, grouped with peers of similar age and language proficiency. Full board and weekly laundry are included. The program features small group instruction and a comprehensive schedule of activities such as sports, city tours, museum visits, and weekly full-day excursions to nearby cities like Cologne and Bonn.
The inclusive fee covers tuition, materials, accommodation, meals, activities, excursions, and supervision. Additional costs are transfers, flights, visa fees, and insurance. All students take a placement test, though beginners cannot enroll in the two-week course.
