The University of Toronto, established in 1827 as a public institution, is a premier English-language research university in Canada. It serves over 88,000 students aged 17 and above from more than 160 countries across its three campuses in Toronto, Mississauga, and Scarborough. The university's identity is built on a legacy of innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration, supported by a faculty of 14,000 and a network of 560,000 influential alumni.

A distinctive feature is its seven undergraduate colleges—Innis, New, St. Michael's, Trinity, University, Victoria, and Woodsworth—each providing a close-knit community and residence options. Accommodation ranges from traditional shared rooms to modern apartment-style suites with full kitchens. All residences include laundry facilities and common areas.

The university offers a vast academic portfolio of more than 700 undergraduate and 200 graduate programs. Student life is enriched by over 800 clubs, a major library system, and extensive engagement in arts, sports, and volunteer activities. Athletic offerings are comprehensive, including basketball, soccer, swimming, rowing, and many others.

Admission for international students is managed through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre. Requirements include secondary school transcripts and proof of English proficiency, such as an IELTS score of 6.5 or a TOEFL iBT score of 100. The university awards numerous scholarships, with first-year applicants automatically considered for many. The prestigious Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship covers full tuition and living expenses for four years. Tuition and accommodation costs vary by program and college selection.
